"Answers to questions posed"

  1. Legal given name is Sheldon Lojiu. Commonly known as "Shel" or "Don". 24 years of age. Currently a student in Uitm undertaking my last semester for the course Tesl.
  2. I'd rate myself as higher than novice but no where near savvy. Intermediate perhaps? My reasoning would be that I do know the basics on how to use computers but anything higher than that I'd be lost.
  3. Being an intermediate user, I only have the basic knowledge of basic computer software and hardware. i.e Microsoft
  4. Yes, since I consider anything I read online is learning. I also have been exposed to learning CDs of secondary school students as well as my own third language learning. Apart from that, I have yet to experience other technical or structured computer learning.
  5. No, I did not incorporate technology in any of my learning lessons during my practicum. The main reason would be that the particular school lacked the basic facilities for technology assisted learning especially in the students' respective classrooms. Only computer labs and science labs had these equipments but availability was scarce. Other than that, my personal preferences were more inclined to whole-class interaction as well as brushing up on students' English proficiency.
  6. Definitely a means to assist on improving language learning. Also to make lessons more interactive and fun for both teachers and students. It is also in line with the current needs for students to be computer savvy. However, the wonders of computer/ technology assisted learning can only go so far if the basic necessities such as software, hardware and computer knowledge is not provided or up-to-date.
  7. My expectation is to be further exposed to language learning using computers/ technology. I hope to broaden my view and knowledge on how to diversify the means of learning language. I am also keen to improve my personal repertoire on computers and technology.
